Meet Dr. Yingnan Zhang (San Antonio, TX)

Dr. Yingnan Zhang is a therapeutic optometrist with extensive training and experience in ophthalmology and vision science. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in 2026. She also holds an MD and PhD in Ophthalmology and Vision Science from Capital Medical University in China.

Prior to practicing optometry in the United States, Dr. Zhang completed an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in cornea and anterior segment diseases at Beijing Tongren Hospital. Her clinical and research experience includes the diagnosis and management of corneal and anterior segment disorders, with a particular focus on cornea and dry eye disease. She has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in these areas.

Dr. Zhang’s clinical interests include comprehensive eye care, myopia management, dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and anterior segment disorders. She is experienced in refraction, contact lens fitting, and advanced diagnostic technologies.

Dr. Zhang is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care. She takes a comprehensive approach to each patient, combining her ophthalmic training and research expertise with careful clinical evaluation to develop individualized treatment plans. She believes in clear communication and takes the time to help patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term eye health.

Fluent in English and Chinese, Dr. Zhang provides care to patients from diverse backgrounds. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and fitness, as well as spending time with her family.
